I am looking to find out about accidents of TfL’s network.
1. Details of all compensation issued by TfL in relation to accidents since 1 January 2023. Required detail include the date of incident, date of compensation being issued, the amount of compensation issued, if compensation was spontaneously offered by TfL or appealed for by the individual, a description of the accident (including location), the age and gender of the individual, if the individual is a member of staff or the public and if TfL took any other non-financial action (e.g. the firing of an employee, fixing of machinery, improved safety procedure).

Our Ref: FOI-1676-2425 Thank you for your request received on 25 August 2024 asking for information about accidents on our network. Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.
I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require. However, in accordance with the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply the detailed information you have requested as it is subject to statutory exemptions to the right of access to information, under Section 40 of the Act.
Information on specific claims, as requested, is considered personal information and disclosure of this data would be a breach of the legislation, specifically the first principle of Article 5 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful. It would not be fair to disclose this personal information when the individuals have no expectation it would be disclosed and TfL has not satisfied one of the conditions which would make the processing ‘fair’.
If you are interested in the total compensation issued by TfL in relation to accidents since 1 January 2023 (but not broken down by individual case), it is likely we would be able to provide you with this information.
