Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 2 September 2019.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm we do hold the information you require. You asked:

I'd like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act for all transactions over £500 from April 2019 to at most a quarter in arrears from the date at which you publish in response to this request.

Our expenditure data, complete to 25 May 2019, has now been published and can be found in the Transparency section of the TfL website at https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/#on-this-page-4 and will be linked to the ‘data.gov.uk’ website in due course.

In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.

The TfL and ‘data.gov.uk’ websites will be updated later today also to include data up to 22 June 2019.  This meets our obligation to report up to a quarter in arrears.  Period 4 data should be completed and published in the next few weeks. Period 5 data is still being prepared.

In accordance with the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply the information you have requested as it is subject to a statutory exemption to the right of access to information, under Section 22 of the Act. In this instance the exemption has been applied as the information you have requested is intended for future publication.

The use of this exemption is subject to an assessment of the public interest in relation to the disclosure of the information concerned. TfL recognises the need for openness and transparency by public authorities and the particular public interest in disclosure of this information. However in this instance, it is considered that the public interest favours the publication of this information, in context and according to the pre-determined schedule, rather than in response to your request, to ensure the information is provided accurately and in an accessible manner.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have published.

Yours sincerely
