Emails about the decision (rather than all details) around the timetable for introducing Class 710 trains onto the Chingford branch.
Request ID: FOI-1650-1920
Date published: 23 September 2019
You asked
F/O from 1345-1920
Thank you for this response.
Please could you narrow the scope of the request to focus on 1345-1910 only and also to focus only on the last five emails that provide a decision (rather than all details) around the timetable for introducing Class 710 trains onto the Chingford branch.
This should be a more proportionate search as it only requires the decision maker for rolling stock that line to search for the relevant emails re: introduction. It should not require a search across all of TfL.

TfL Ref: 1650-1920
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30 August 2019 asking for the last five emails sent or received by TfL that provide the decision (rather than all details) around the timetable for introducing Class 710 trains onto the Chingford branch in the last three months.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested as the ‘emails’ you are seeking do not exist. The implementation dates for introducing the Class 710 trains will be fluid as a consequence of any delivery delays of the trains for the Gospel Oak to Barking (GOB) and the Watford / Euston line. This updated information is briefed at meetings, at project level and at a more senior meeting each week. Bombardier also regularly provide verbal updates our project team if there are any delivery impacts. The programme is then updated accordingly to include the consequent impacts on other routes.
The new trains are fully in service and operating reliably on the Gospel Oak to Barking line, and so we have started the process of rolling them out to the Watford to Euston line. We then expect to start operating them on the Liverpool Street to Chingford, Enfield and Cheshunt lines by the end of this year.
As advised in our response to your request FOI-0686-1819, on 3 July 2018, Unit 15-on will be deployed on the Liverpool Street to Chingford, Enfield Town and Cheshunt routes. Although the ambition is to introduce these units as soon as possible, this is dependent upon the train manufacturer developing and testing the required level train control software which is currently not yet available. As such a decision has not been able to be made on the exact date of the first unit introduction.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely
