We have received at least 5 DVS penalties on PE18NLT travelling to London when not registered - this unit has had all the equipment fitted and has been purely an admin error, the engineer who fitted the camera, etc has taken photos of the installation and means I haven't applied for the permit. I will rectify this asap and complete the application for the permit. Is there anything you can do with the £1375 fines that we have had to pay ? If I had been notified on the first instance then I could have stopped the vehicle going into the area as I have more than half our fleet with permits circa 300/500 - surely with the technology you have could I have not been alerted by email - 24 hours after the incident ? I'm unsure how many more fines I will receive in the next few days. Please can I make a freedom of information request to know how much money the LFT are receiving in DVS fines per month ?

The Direct Vision Standard (DVS) and safety permit for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) requires operators of lorries over 12 tonnes gross vehicle weight to obtain a safety permit before entering and operating in most of Greater London. Otherwise, a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) may be issued.
The scheme is part of the Mayor of London's Vision Zero plan to eliminate all deaths and serious injuries on London's transport network by 2041.
The table below details the number of penalties issued and the amount collected. The amounts paid are subject to change as more penalties are settled over time.
