We answered

Our ref: FOI-1641-2021/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 16 November 2020 asking for information about All On The Board.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

How much are the staff making from this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1473691249/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_Ia6GFb3ZXB0HH

The staff who wrote the book are not paid for their involvement by TfL. Instead they are paid directly by the publisher and we do not have access to this information

What are the names and job title of the staff involved

Whilst the staff involved are anonymous in the book, the publisher is planning on releasing their names as part of their PR plan on the 26th November.

Therefore in accordance with the FOI Act, TfL is not obliged to supply you with the names of the authors as these are subject to a statutory exemption to the right of access to information, under Section 22 of the Act. In this instance the exemption has been applied as the information you have requested is intended for future publication.

This exemption is subject to a public interest test, which requires us to assess whether the public interest in applying the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosure. In this instance, it is considered that the public interest favours the publication of this information, in context and according to the pre-determined schedule, rather than in response to your request.

How much money does a board cost

We are not sure what you mean by this question, however, there is no cost to TfL - the authors have written this in their own time.

Any contracts available to the public including terms with the publisher

The contract is between TSBA, TfL’s licensing agency and the publisher. We can confirm that through the contract with TSBA, TfL will receive a share of the royalty for each book that is sold. The shared royalty between TfL and TSBA is 7.5% and TSBA retain 25% of the royalty.

If this is not the information you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are considering submitting a further FOI request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
