Our ref: FOI-1623-1718/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 25 September 2017 asking for information about TfL’s inspections of taxis and Uber .

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.

Please see below breakdown which shows the number of compliance checks on taxi and private hire vehicles and drivers for a 12 month period from 1st October 2016 to the 30th Sept 2017. Please note that this does not include checks undertaken during visits to PHV operators. TfL does not hold data broken down to operator level, and we are therefore unable to provide you with the requested information specifically for Uber London Limited.

Total checked

PHV Drivers checked

PHV Vehicles checked
