Thank you for your request received on 30 August 2019 asking for information about Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our Information Access Policy. I can confirm we do hold some of the information you requested. You asked:

Can you please provide a daily breakdown of the following ULEZ information since its introduction on 8th April 2019 up to and including 31st July -

- Number of ULEZ scheme penalty notices issued per day

- How many vehicles have paid the ULEZ charge per day

- No of cars entering the ULEZ that are non compliant

As the ULEZ scheme was new, between 8 April and 10 May we issued warning notices rather than PCNs.

The ULEZ charge is payable at two rates:

1. The ULEZ Low charge is £12.50 for most vehicle types, including cars, motorcycles and vans (up to and including 3.5 tonnes) 

    

2. The ULEZ High charge is £100 for heavier vehicles, including lorries (over 3.5 tonnes) and buses/coaches (over 5 tonnes)

Please find attached the number of ULEZ PCNs we issued, how many drivers purchased the daily ULEZ charge and how many vehicles have entered the zone which are non-compliant with the scheme’s requirements. The breakdown of figures is per day between 11 May and 31 July 2019 inclusive.
