I am after historical data, would it be possible to get the past years since 2017?

Thank you for your request received on 17 August 2023 asking for information about taxi and private hire vehicles (PHVs).
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require.
As advised in our previous response, Taxi and PHVs are licensed on an annual basis and where there is a period of relicensing some data in the vehicle records are overwritten to reflect the new licence. Therefore, the information available is a snapshot of all licensed taxi and PHVs. Any data for previous years has since been overwritten, however if you search through the published responses on our website you may be able to locate similar snapshots for the previous years you require. I have identified some of the information below for 2021 onwards:
