Comments: I understand you are stopping the 428 from going to Bluewater in January, where it will now only go as far as Crayford. I live in the poorest part of the borough of Bexley and our family relies on the 428 to get to work and college. Your decision will not only cost us more in money - it will add significantly to our journey times. So much work is going into improving housing and getting people in my area into jobs. Your decision to withdraw the service to Bluewater will put us at further disadvantage. I do not recall any consultation taking place prior to this decision. Please provide me with details of your equality assessment so I can take this further with the help of our local authority and MP if needed.

Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 2018, asking for a copy of an equality impact assessment relating to bus route 428.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. 

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested. The consultation for the bus route has not gone out yet.

The way people travel around London is constantly changing, and we need to have a public transport system that adapts to evolving demand, while supporting economic growth across the capital.

Buses have a crucial role to play in boosting the number of people walking, cycling and using public transport, and we are currently working to reorganise our bus network to ensure we are keeping up with changes happening around London and Greater London. As part of this, we are ensuring bus capacity is being matched in the right areas at the right time.

Please note that these changes will also be subject to full public consultation before they’re put in place, so we can hear from our customers.
