TfL Ref: FOI-1586-2021

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 11th November 2020 asking for information about the London buses tripartite agreement of April 2020.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

I would like to obtain all documentation including the actual agreements, memorandums, emails, drafts, meeting minutes and handwritten notes pertaining to the (“The Bus Industry and its People Working Together to Support London“) signed between TfL, Bus Operators and Unite the Union in April 2020.

I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. Note that the agreement is in letter format, a copy of which has already been published in response to a Mayoral Question earlier this year. That letter can be found published on the GLA website here:

https://www.london.gov.uk/questions/2020/1724

A copy is attached for ease of reference.

This commitment was signed by all parties on 5 April 2020. Since then additional safeguards have been introduced including sealing up all driver cabs, adding notices about social distancing on stops and vehicles, enhanced cleaning of frequently touched surfaces with long-lasting anti-viral agents and making face masks available to staff if they want to wear them.

Note that the agreement was largely reached by teleconference. There is, therefore, little other documentation surrounding it. We do have the two attached emails (and the two attachments circulated within those emails), which represents everything else we hold within the scope of your request. Any names, contact details or other personal information have been redacted under section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act, the exemption which protects against the unfair release of third party personal data.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are considering submitting a further FOI request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely,

David Wells
