FOI request detail

Uber crime statistics

Request ID: FOI-1586-1718
Date published: 20 October 2017

You asked

I note that one of the reasons for refusal of Uber's licence renewal is the crime stats, and particularly sex offences. In order to claim this, I am assuming you have the figures. Can you therefore please let me have a breakdown of the figures, for whatever periods you have in last two years, and include the breakdown for Uber black taxis, and other mini cabs or private hire vehicles. Thank you.

We answered

Our ref: FOI-1586-1718/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 24 September 2017 asking for taxis & private hire crime data.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.

The data for 2016 will be published shortly. In accordance with the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with the latest figures in response to your request, as this information is subject to a statutory exemption to the right of access to information, under Section 22 of the Act. In this instance the exemption has been applied as the information you have requested is intended for future publication.

This exemption is subject to a public interest test, which requires us to assess whether the public interest in applying the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosure. If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
