Over the period 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017, how many paper and digital posters have been paid for and displayed by TFL which name Sadiq Khan in connection with his policies as Mayor of London? Over the same period how many emails have been sent by TFL which name Sadiq Khan in connection with his policies as Mayor of London?

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 22 September 2017 asking for information about advertising and emails relating to Sadiq Khan.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.

Paper and digital posters paid for and displayed by TfL

During the period 1 July 2016- 30 June 2017, a total of 2,181 paper posters have been displayed where the media space has been paid for.  During the same period no digital posters have been displayed where the media space has been paid for.    

The messaging on the posters was as follows:

  • Consultations on proposals to extend the Bakerloo Line  
  • Launch of the Bus Hopper which provides two for one journeys within an hour
  • Improvements to the bus fleet, greener buses, launch of the first Low Emission Bus Zone in Putney.

Email activity

  • A total of 33 email campaigns have been sent out, referencing the Mayor Sadiq Khan and his policies
  • Total volume of emails sent is 13.8m
  • The subject of these emails have been as follows:

    • GLA Air quality survey
    • Bus Hopper launch
    • London Travel Watch survey
    • Fares Freeze
    • Ultra-Low Emission Zone
    • Bakerloo line consultation
    • Mayor’s Transport Strategy
    • Emissions Surcharge (T-Charge)
    • Bus Hopper one year on
