Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 3 October 2022, asking about temporary lights at Old Kent Road.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:

Please supply the information relating to why that change was made.
The temporary traffic signals were requested by TfL to ensure that pedestrians could safely cross Old Kent Road, while developers removed part of the footway to facilitate their works. The signal timings have been consistent since installation, and have not been changed. They were tested last week and found to be operating as expected. Typically, during the day, the average wait time for pedestrians is approximately 44 seconds with the maximum wait time not exceeding 82 seconds. We have asked our signals contractor to further investigate and ensure there are no underlying faults with the system which have not been identified through our observations.
