CIRAS for annual subscriptions
Request ID: FOI-1569-1718
Date published: 09 October 2017
You asked
A quick analysis of the Expenditures (https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/expenditure-over-250) made by TfL to the Rail Safety & Standards Board (RSSB, which, inter alia, invoices TfL on behalf of CIRAS for annual subscriptions) for the periods 2015-16 and 2016-17 shows an increase of approximately £8000 (exactly £8043.50) for the latter period. Kindly confirm (or deny) if that increased expenditure in fact reflects the increased annual CIRAS subscription cost borne by TfL so that its Bus Subcontractors could be covered by TfL's CIRAS subscription for the period commencing 4 January 2016 and thereafter.

As previously stated, the agreement we have for London bus operators to use CIRAS does not involve any additional cost. The increase in expenditure you refer to does not reflect an increase in the subscription cost to TfL so that our Bus Subcontractors could be covered by our CIRAS subscription.
