In relation of the day of the incident (20/09/2016 at 10.50am) Please indicate precisely the location on the A40 on which road works were being undertaken indicating the start and finish point of the road works and the temporary speed limit that was in place at that time.
Please confirm the usual speed limit on the road.
Please confirm which lane was closed and the location of the start and end of the lane closure or was it a rolling lane closure?
Please confirm how road users were made aware of the temporary speed limit and also lane closure.

FOI Request – A40 Roadworks
Thank you for your letter received on 6 August 2019 asking for information about roadworks that were taking place on the A40.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.
We do not hold the information you have requested. There were no TfL works carried out on 20 September. There was an emergency lane closure on 19 September for a gully repair and night time block closures that week but none of these works would have incorporated an alteration to the speed limit as a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) would have been required and none were issued during that time.
If you have any further details regarding the works and their location, i.e. a nearby junction, then we may be able to investigate further.
