Safety Assessment for northbound A1010 cycle lane by Enfield

Request ID: FOI-1547-1920
Date published: 04 September 2019

You asked

Our concerns are that the northbound A1010 cycle lane has a "sausage" kerb extension that extends infront of traffic heading out of Nightingale Road, driving westwards, resulting in hazards comprising risk of vehicle clash, risk of vehicles mounting the kerb and striking cyclists or pedestrians Via EIR, we request the independent Safety Assessment that has been done for this stretch of the road by Enfield, that will have been disclosed to TfL is disclosed. Enfield have refused to provide it to us but we believe that it should be disclosed in light of the risks that we have identified. Actually, this was for A1010 South, with particular interest in the Nightingale / Galliard Rd Junction. It was for the post implementation safety audits that have been carried out for Enfield Council.

TfL Ref: 1547-1920

Thank you for your clarification of your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30 August 2019  asking for the post implementation safety audit for the A1010 South cycle lane in Enfield, with particular interest in the Nightingale / Galliard Rd Junction.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR)] and our information access policy.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested as the London Borough of Enfield will be carrying out the post implementation audit (the scheme you have asked about has only recently finished and the safety audit hasn’t been completed yet).  Please contact Enfield Council for further information at https://new.enfield.gov.uk/contact-us/ask-for-council-information/ .

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
