TfL Ref: FOI-1546-2021

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 7th November 2020 asking for information about Penalty Charge Notices issued for parking contraventions on Bromley Road.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

“PCN Bromley Road: How many PCNs have been issued for parking contraventions Location OPP 400-416 Bromley Road BR in the last 2 years? How many were challenged on appeal and how many appeals were successful.”

I can confirm that we hold the information you require. Note that in order to challenge a penalty the recipient must first submit a representation to TfL. If the representation is accepted the penalty is cancelled. If we reject the representation the penalty remains outstanding although there is a further right of appeal to an Independent Adjudicator at London Tribunals.

Between 1 November 2018 and 9 November 2020 at this location, we issued 38 PCNs in total. We have received 4 representations against the PCNs issued. Of these 1 has been rejected, 2 have been accepted and 1 is awaiting a decision. We have received no appeals.

If this is not the information you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are considering submitting a further FOI request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely,

David Wells
