Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 26th September 2022 asking for bus passenger count data.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

I work for the RHS and am looking into how many people visited Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival 2023 by bus. Could you please please provide data on bus users to and from the following stops between July 4th and July 9th 2022, and the same data between June 6th and June 11th:

Hampton Court Station (Stop G)
Hampton Court Palace (Stop F)
Hampton Court Palace (Stop C)
Hampton Court Green (Stop E)
Hampton Court Green (Stop D)
Hampton Court Gardens (Stop B)
Hampton Court Gardens (Stop A)
Park House”

I can confirm that we hold the information you require. Please see the two spreadsheets attached. Note that:

  • There are two files, one each for the requested date ranges of 6 June to 11 June 2022 and 4 July to 9 July 2022;
  • You may need to expand the width of some columns to read the data in full;
  • Within the files, board and alight demand figures are provided for each date within the above date ranges, for each stop. Stopcodes, stop names and point letter reference information is included;
  • There are two stops named “Park House” in the area of interest, and both without identifier point letters. Therefore demand figures are provided for both;
  • All alighter figures are inferred as customers do not need to touch out when leaving the bus;
  • All figures are scaled to account for customers who do not need to touch in i.e. paper ticket users, as per usual TfL demand reporting processes;

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely,
