Thank you for your request which we received on 12 August 2024, asking for information about the Lodge Lane flyover works.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm TfL does hold the information you require.

• Are they replacing the flyover like-for-like, or are they building a tunnel? 

We have considered several options to replace the Lodge Avenue flyover, including replacing the existing structure with an underpass. We have concluded the like for like replacement is the most favourable option, while other options would require purchase of land thus resulting in prolonged timeline and increased cost. 

• What infrastructure is being built to allow the A13 to continue to flow around the roadworks? 
• Will there be complete road closures during the works?

We are currently working with our partners on the plans to replace the flyover to ensure the network remains operational and safe. We expect the construction to commence in early 2025. During construction of the new flyover we will provide two temporary lanes in each direction to maintain the A13, and we will publish further information once we have confirmed next steps, including how we will manage traffic.
