Thank you for your request received on 21 August 2019 asking for information about pedestrian casualties in the London Borough of Richmond.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.

Please find the number of pedestrians injured in collision with a pedal cyclist in the London Borough of Richmond (2016 to 2018) in the table below:

Injuries caused by collisions are reported in line with other collisions, as per the DfT definitions. ‘Serious’ injuries include broken bones, tendon or ligament damage requiring time off work, or other injuries requiring hospital treatment. ‘Slight’ injuries will include those where a person is taken to hospital but treatment is not required, sprains which do not require time off work, and blows to the head which do not cause concussion or require stitches.

Please note that the data is reported to us by the Metropolitan Police Service and may not reflect later changes to the classification of collisions and injuries.

Personal injury road traffic collisions occurring on the public highway are reported in accordance with the Department for Transport (DfT) STATS 19 national reporting system.
