This is a request for data on the number of retail sales of season tickets (“travel cards”) split by:
- Product (weekly, monthly, annual)
- Zone
I note that on September 11, 2018, TfL published this information for financial years 2015/16, 2016/17, and 2017/18 in response to FOI request with Ref: FOI-5004-1718. To be clear, I am requesting the exact same data, but updated to include data for 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21, and 2021/22.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 22 September 2022 asking for information about retail sales of season tickets. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked: This is a request for data on the number of retail sales of season tickets (“travel cards”) split by:

I note that on September 11, 2018, TfL published this information for financial years 2015/16, 2016/17, and 2017/18 in response to FOI request with Ref: FOI-5004-1718. To be clear, I am requesting the exact same data, but updated to include data for 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21, and 2021/22.
Please see attached document which gives the totals for all outlets by time validity and zones of Travelcard season issues by financial year since 2015/16. You may have to expand the column widths to see some of the data.
Please note that the results are in a slightly different format and we have combined some minor zonal combinations that extend beyond Zone 6. For consistency we have included the totals for the previous years in the same format which may not exactly match the previous data in the previous FOI request due to possible slight differences in the data source used.
