FOI request detail

ibus announcments

Request ID: FOI-1508-1718
Date published: 17 October 2017

You asked

This request is being made in bid to be provided with a CD copy of the most up to date iBus recordings in CD format + PDF version of all announcements for reference. I am requesting this for a personal simulation project I am working on - the announcement system has been well implemented into the simulation and is now in need of the audio files in high definition quality. This simulation is entirely for personal use only and would satisfy by the laws involved in copyright.

We answered

FOI Request – 1508-1718 – iBus audio announcements

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 18 September 2017 asking for a CD of the most up to date iBus announcements and for your further email confirming your address.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

Please find enclosed a CD of the iBus announcements as requested for your perusal.

The CD includes announcements that are currently used on the iBus system. Withdrawn announcements are no longer held, and therefore cannot be provided. We currently do not plan to introduce any additional announcements, over and above those for operational reasons, for example amending stop names if the road layout changes.

Planned announcements would also be made up of these fragmented audio files, where possible. Please note that the iBus announcements are recorded as fragments and therefore provided in this format accordingly.

Please note that while access to this material will be provided to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, you are not granted any rights to any of the intellectual property that exists in it or granted any permission to make secondary uses of it.

TfL owns all intellectual property (including, without limitation, copyright) in the material supplied and will defend such rights.

If you wish to make any secondary use of the material provided, you must first obtain the consent of TfL (which may be withheld) and, if consent is granted, a fee may be charged, in accordance with the terms of the Reuse of Public Sector Information Regulations 2005.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please feel free to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
