Our ref: FOI-1506-2425
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 08 August 2024 asking for information about signage on the A20.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.
I can confirm that we do hold the information you require. You asked:
What signs are currently in place? Have there been issues in this location?
In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere. Please see the answer to a similar request published on the FOI pages of our website via the following link, which provides the requested data: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4182-2324.
Have any errors been corrected or are the same erroneous signs in use?
TfL was notified that an incorrect 50mph sign had been placed at this location by an unauthorised third party on 24 January 2024. This was removed and replaced on the same evening that TfL received the notification.
As is normal practice, we worked closely with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) to ensure that the traffic orders and signage were all correct and in place before camera enforcement began on 19 December 2023, and that the new speed limit signage installed is compliant with the DfT's traffic sign regulations.
If you know it, how many speeding tickets been issued?
It is the responsibility of the police to enforce speed limits and issue speeding fines.
If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely,
Tahsin Prima
