You asked
Before I can go into the pros + cons of the ridiculous situation whereby Recreational Vehicles (usually defined as one with fitted cooking , sleeping and bathroom facilities) , not commercial vehicles are being penalised , I need to know just how many vehicles like ours are are registered within the L.E.Z. area , ie most of the inner M25
I am putting this as a Freedom Of Information Request and , as TFL wrote to every owner of an an older , heavier , motorhome then there will be a simple record of the number of letters sent out on your files. All I need is the actual number of older/heavier Motorhomes and recreational vehicles are registered in the zone
I look forward to recieving the information so I can make further representation in my quest to get recreational vehicles added to the exempt list . As I said before , these vehicles are hardly ever used in town and the owners must have the right to park them in their inner M25 homes and drive them out of town , in most cases under 5 miles to join the M25
Needless to say , the U.L.E.Z. charge should remain in place for our older vehicles

TfL Ref: 1506-2122
Thank you for your request received by us on 11 October 2021 asking for information about the number of older/heavier motorhomes and recreational vehicles registered in the Low Emissions Zone.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy.
Transport for London TfL) does not hold the information you have requested as the specific motor vehicle classification data you are seeking is recorded by the DVLA.
In reference to your comment that ‘as TFL wrote to every owner of an older, heavier, motorhome then there will be a simple record of the number of letters sent out on your files’, we would like to advise that the TfL mailouts sent to the DVLA were for vehicles that were captured within the zone – rather than vehicle registrations. TfL does not have access to the final correspondence sent by the DVLA.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
