TfL Ref: 1501-2122
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 7 October 2021 asking for information about the number of cameras installed in the Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) extension.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require. You asked:
How. many cameras will monitor the new ULEZ zone area from October 2021?
The aim of ULEZ is to improve air quality in London by deterring the most polluting vehicles from driving in the area, whilst its enforcement is designed to incentivise drivers to change their behaviour in order to meet the required emissions standards. We can advise that around 900 cameras have been installed in the new ULEZ area.
