Dear TFL, From Sunday 09/09/18 a new speed limit will be in place on A40 between target RB and Greenford. It used to be 50mph but due to a problem with central barriers it was changed to 30mph ( temporary). Now it’ll be changed again to 40mph. Most likely permanently Could you please let me know if that’s the case?

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 2 September 2018 asking for information about the speed limit on the A40.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

TfL’s first priority is always the safety of Londoners. On Sunday 9 September following a safety assessment we were able to increase the speed limit to 40mph along the A40 between Greenford and Target Roundabouts. This change will be in place for the foreseeable future, there are currently no plans to make any further changes along this road.
