Trackform Specification | Train Commissioning In-Car Test Report
Request ID: FOI-1460-2223 Date published: 06 October 2022
You asked
We have proposed use of a booted sleeper track-form to control in-car noise levels – Please see attached strategy.
We have developed and validated an in-car noise model against the Northwest alignment: https://www.sydneymetro.info/map/sydney-metro-interactive-train-map
Northwest is a standard track slab with a soft rail fastener (Pandrol RF167: 8kN/mm)
Sydney Metro have requested we validate our noise model against a booted sleeper track
Crossrail/Elizabeth Line has the SATEBA standard (bi-block) and high (mono-block) trackforms.
Can you please provide specifications for the trackform (contracts C122 and C610?) and test/compliance reports for the rail car (in-car noise level measurements)

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 16 September 2022 asking for information about trackform specification.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
Attached is a copy of the Standard Track Systems Specification C122-OVE-R4-RSP-CR001-50003 Rev 12.
Crossrail/RfL did not carry out any noise tests in the rail cars and therefore we do not hold test reports. However, noise tests were carried out ‘in car’ by Alstom (the manufacturer). We have therefore approached them to see if they are able to assist with your request. Whilst their test report is classed as ‘confidential information’, they have kindly provided the attached redacted report for your information.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
