How much does an FOI Request cost

Thank you for your email which we received on 29 August 2018, asking about the cost of FOI requests.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. 

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested as every request is different and we do not record cost of answering individual requests.

As for charging for requests, we cannot charge a standard fee for FOI or EIR requests; we can only charge for disbursements or for requests which cost more than the ‘appropriate limit’ of £450 set by the Freedom of Information (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004. This is calculated at £25 per hour for every hour spent on activities such as locating, retrieving and extracting the information (maximum 18 hours).
