2. Is a bus driver recommended to answer the iBus radio whilst in stationary traffic?
3. Is it a rule that the bus driver only answer iBus radio at bus stop or end terminus?
4. Is a bus driver required to switch engine off to use the iBus radio?

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 23 August 2018 asking for information about bus driver protocols.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.
The Big Red Book (attached) is provided to all bus drivers. This contains the guidance we provide to drivers on making radio calls. In some instances, if a driver wasn’t sure what to do, he or she could always call CentreComm or his or her operator for guidance. There may be more detailed guidance held by the bus operators, but this information is not held by TfL.
