Please provide the total number of officers (including Community Support Officers) and which specific units of the Metropolitan Police which are funded entirely or partially by TfL. Also, please provide me with the annual amount, starting in 2016/17 to the present, of funds the Metropolitan Police received from TfL for the provision of these officers. Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

*Wider civilian or outsourced support services are covered separately, and not by dedicated resources. This is billed to TfL via the annually agreed overhead support charge on an officer per capita basis.

Under the current structure for 2019/20, TfL’s funding contributes either entirely or partially towards the following functions:

Safer Transport Teams, Roads Policing Teams, Road Danger Reduction, Commercial Vehicles, Cycle/Motorcycle Safety, Taxi & Private Hire Policing, Workplace Violence, Reassurance Tasking, Network Disruption and Senior Leadership.
