I request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000:
1. That TfL confirms whether or not it holds any evidence that the shared e-bike schemes operated in London by Lime, Forest and Voi, contribute towards:
a) TfL's mode shift targets to more active and healthy modes of travel;
b) easing road congestion in London;
c) reducing pressure on London's public transport; and
d) improving London's air quality.
2. That if TfL holds such evidence, TfL discloses it in full.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 2nd August 2024 asking for information about e-bike hire schemes. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“I request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000:
1. That TfL confirms whether or not it holds any evidence that the shared e-bike schemes operated in London by Lime, Forest and Voi, contribute towards: a) TfL's mode shift targets to more active and healthy modes of travel; b) easing road congestion in London; c) reducing pressure on London's public transport; and d) improving London's air quality. 2. That if TfL holds such evidence, TfL discloses it in full.”.
I am afraid that TfL does not hold the requested information. At present, dockless e-bike services are not regulated by TfL and therefore we have no influence on how these services are run. Further, these operators have no requirement to share data about their services with TfL.
