FOI request detail

Frequency of trains between all stations

Request ID: FOI-1431-1819
Date published: 17 January 2019

You asked

I would like to have a spreadsheet showing the hourly frequency of trains between each station pair on a typical week day. I assume this is data you have available as part of your timetabling. I would like the frequency in pairs and to include the line, e.g.: From, To, Line, 9.00-10.00, 10.00-11.00, Waterloo, Lambeth North, Bakerloo 12, 10, Lambeth North, Waterloo, Bakerloo 10, 8, So Waterloo would have pairs to Embankment, Westminster, Lambeth North, Southwark and Bank. So 10 rows. And then the same for every other station. I hope this is clear. If possible I would like to include DLR, Trams, Underground and Overground. However, Underground and DLR are the most important. Although I have asked for a snapshot of a typical weekday, if the data is easily available could you include a snapshot from a set day from the last 10 years, say June 30th.

Thank you for your email received by us on 24 August 2018 asking for information about Docklands Light Railway (DLR), Trams, London Underground and Overground train frequencies.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. You asked for:

Frequency of trains between all stations

I would like the frequency in pairs and to include the line, e.g.:

From, To, Line, 9.00-10.00, 10.00-11.00,
Waterloo, Lambeth North, Bakerloo 12, 10,
Lambeth North, Waterloo, Bakerloo 10, 8,

So Waterloo would have pairs to Embankment, Westminster, Lambeth North, Southwark and Bank. So 10 rows. And then the same for every other station.

Unfortunately we do not hold this information as our timetable data for these services are not recorded in the format requested. As an example, attached are copies of the current timetables for Tramlink services. Each route shares a common part of the track and in certain areas there is an increased frequency in service such as between Wimbledon to Reeves Corner. This occurs during peak and inter-peak periods when trains run every five minutes as services terminating at Beckenham Junction and Elmers End overlap.

In the meantime, timetables of our DLR, Underground and Overground services are published via the following links to our website:
