Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 11 September 2017 asking for information about our IT network infrastructure.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our Information Access Policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:

I would like to make a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act regarding your IT network infrastructure.

Please could you answer the following questions regarding the equipment for Transport for London - London Underground Limited at 55 Broadway, London, SW1H 0BD.

1.) How many desktop PCs do you have at this site? Which brand(s) are they? We have 327 desktop PCs, all of which are HP.

2.) How many laptops/notebooks or tablet PCs do you have at this site? Which brand(s) are they? We have 9, all of which are HP.

3.) How many thin clients do you have at this site? Which brand(s) are they? 331, all of which HP (103 ThinPro, 228 Windows 8.1).

4.) What operating systems do you run on your PCs/Laptops? Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, a small number of Mac OS X, and HP ThinPro.

5.) How many desktops, laptops and thin clients do you have in total in your organisation across the country? We have 25802 desktops, laptops and thin clients , of which 21840 are active (SCCM: 14555 of which 11669 are active, HP Device Manager: 11247 of which 10171 are active).

6.) How many physical servers do you have on site? Which brand(s) are they? We have 5 physical servers at this location, all of which are HP.

7.) Which server operating systems do you use? Windows Server 2008 R2, Server 2012, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, SunOS 5.1, Linux.

8.) How many virtual servers do you have on site? We do not have any virtual servers at this location.

9.) Which server virtualisation software do you use? VMware ESXI and vCenter.

10.) Do you access any virtual servers in the cloud? Yes.

11.) What supplier provides the maintenance (out of warranty) support on your desktops and servers and when does the contract expire? ComputaCentre provides maintenance support and the contract expires in July 2019.

12.) What suppliers/brands of Storage Area Networking (SAN) do you use? We use EMC.

13.) Which application do you use for Enterprise Resource Planning/Management (ERP/ERM)? We use SAP.

14.) Which application do you use for Groupware Products? We use SharePoint, Lync, and Office 365.

15.) Which application do you use for Database Products? We use SQL/Oracle.

16.) Which application do you use for CRM Software? We use MS Dynamics.

17.) Which application do you use for Business Intelligence Systems? We use BOXI.

18.) Which application do you use for Finance & Accounting Systems? We use SAP.

19.) Which application do you use for Human Resources Application Systems? SAP

20.) Are any of your business applications cloud based? If so please state which ones. Office 365 and App Hosting are cloud based.

21.) What are the names, line types and speeds of your ISPs? Virgin Media, EasyNet, Zayo, fibreoptic 300 – 600mbs.

22.) Who is your primary voice carrier? Vodaphone is our primary voice carrier.

23.) Approximately how many phone extensions do you have at this site? We have approx 2000 – 3000 phone extensions at Broadway.

24.) Do you use VoIP for your internal communications? We use a mixture of VoIP and TDM.

25.) Are your external calls through your voice carrier carried over VoIP or do they go over a conventional phone line? We use E1 at the edge and Vodaphone then convert and carry over its own IP routing platform

26.) Which brand of PBX do you use at this site? We use Avaya CM and Mitel Md110.

27.) Which supplier has the maintenance contract on your PBX and when does it expire? Daisy has the maintenance contract which expires 2022 with options to extend for a further 2 years.

28.) Who supplies the outsourced or managed service for your data centre and when does the contract expire? Digital Reality, which expires July 2019, Equinix, which expires June 2018 and Global Switch, which expires March 2021.

29.) Who supplies the outsourced or managed service for your service desk and when does the contract expire? The supplier is Atos. The contract expires in 2018 but is being extended for 1 year.
