Request ID: FOI-1418-2425 Date published: 22 August 2024
You asked
I am writing to enquire information for a list of the latest 30 LTNs that is currently funded and it's estimated time to start construction.
I also want to enquire for information about future cycle lanes.
- What is the progress for Cycleway 50 from Finsbury Park to Seven Sisters. Is this section of Cycleway 50 funded? If so, what is the current stage of this cycle lane?
- I would like to enquire information about the missing section of Cycleway 51 from St. John's Wood to Colindale. I am aware that the section in Barnet is open, and Westminster has consulted part of the route in early 2024. Is the missing section in design stages?

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 1 August 2024 asking for information about 30 new LTNs and progress of cycleways.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.
We do not have a definitive list of the 30 latest LTNs. We have funded around 30 borough schemes via the LIP process that may become LTNs – that is the borough requested money for an area based scheme where traffic filters were one of the options under consideration. However, the details of these rest with the boroughs, some will have been progressed, some paused, some may have evolved into alternative non-LTN schemes. We do not therefore hold a list of funded LTNs with construction start dates. Also whilst some LTNs are funded by TfL, all are delivered by the boroughs only on their roads.
C50 is a cycle scheme that is in development to give cyclists a safe and reliable route to travel from Camden Square towards Finsbury Park. This is the first phase of an aspiration to develop proposals for a longer route beyond Finsbury Park to Tottenham Hale via Seven Sisters. The existing funds only allow for completion of the first phase and we are working with stakeholders to identify new funding streams that could see proposals for a cycling route beyond Finsbury Park.
C51 is a long-term ambition to connect the sections in Barnet and Camden. A public consultation is anticipated for September 2024 on Camden’s Kilburn to West Hampstead section. Provided the public consultation is positive, construction should start in early 2025. Engagement is ongoing with LB Barnet to extend C51 towards Hendon and Camden.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
