Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 20 August 2018.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm we do hold the information you require. You asked:

Would you please confirm, annually, how many Congestion Auto pay accounts are sent to your external suppliers for collection?

When Congestion Charge Auto Pay accounts are closed due to unpaid balances, we export the responsibly for recovery of this debt to our contracted service provider, Rossendales. However, we will only pass the balance on to them after sending several letters to the account holder confirming that the balance is outstanding.

The data provided for the last financial year (1 April 2017 – 31 March 2018) is shown in the below table.
