TfL Ref: 1376-1920

Thank you for your request received by us on 8 August 2019 asking for information about the salaries of all Asset Operation Officers.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked for:

confirmation of the Names of all Asset Operation Offices and their current salary amount. Can you state for how long they have been in receipt of the salary amount at this level.

In accordance with TfL’s obligations under Data Protection Legislation, we are not obliged to disclose the names of these individuals, as required by section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act. Neither are we obliged to disclose their current salary amounts; as there are fewer than ten people in each designated salary bracket. This is because disclosure of this personal data would be a breach of the legislation, specifically the first principle which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful. It would not be fair to disclose this personal information when the individuals have no expectation it would be disclosed and TfL has not satisfied one of the conditions which would make the processing ‘fair’. This is an absolute exemption and therefore not subject to a public interest test.

There are 24 employees in Asset Operations and we can advise that out of these, 12 have received a salary increase whilst in their Asset Operations roles (please note employees may have moved to different organisation units since this information was last recorded).

However, to provide their salary increases and the dates of their last pay rise would again be a breach of section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act, given that this applies to fewer than ten individuals in each salary increase bracket and date of salary increase and disclosure could lead to their identification.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
.
Yours sincerely
