Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 13 August 2022 asking for information about bus route 70.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. However, we do not hold the information you have requested.

1.What disciplinary proceedings were taken against the operator based on my complaint on 3rd March 2022 and the further follow up from London Transport Watchdog?

Disciplinary proceedings can only be taken against an employee. We can, however, advise that the performance of all operators is monitored periodically and there is a formal review process with operators to address levels of performance that fall short of a set of minimum performance standards that are contractually set by TfL (these cut across all areas of performance and do not just concern reliability - i.e. they cover safety, mechanical reliability, driving standards, etc).

2. Please state how many times London United has been fine for failing to provide adequate services and delays in services?

We do not issue fines against bus operators. We can, however, make financial adjustments if certain standards are not met. Any financial adjustments for poor performance are calculated over a set period of time and any adjustment is applied at an agreed point in time in line with pre-agreed contractual dates that are specific to the route. There is a mechanism in place for this and performance of all London United’s routes (and those operated by all other operators) are regularly monitored by London Buses.
