Fleet

Power in HP

Top speed

1972 Tube Stock

Continuous running rating

52KW x 16 = 832KW x1.341 = 1152.71 HP

One hour Running rating

79KW x16 = 1264KW x 1.341 = 1695.02 HP

45 Mph

1973 Tube Stock

Approx. 1860 HP

55Mph (Max Line Speed is 45Mph at a limited number of track sections)

1992 Tube Stock

Central line motors are rated to 54kw (1 Hour), hence in very simplistic terms, the total power output from traction motors would be:

32 motors per train x 54kW each = 1728kW x 1.341 = 2317.2 HP

Not required.

S7 Tube Stock

Each motor is 65kW

we have 4 motors per car

so 1820kW on an S7 train

Not required.

DLR B2000

The B2007 traction motor has a power output of 98KW based on continuous running duty, a B2007 vehicle has 2 traction motors, hence a power output of 196KW, this equates to 263hp

The max power output of a B2007 traction motor however, is 396KW, which equates to 792KW per vehicle, converted to hp is 1062hp per B2007 vehicle (max).

Not required.

The number of seats on a 5 car Class 378 London Overground train are as follows:

  • Seating capacity: (Number of full seats per train) 186
  • Seating capacity: (Number of tip up and perch seats, excluding wheelchair spaces) 84
