Can you please provide me with any further information as to exactly what constitutes the 'specific and rare individual circumstances' for which TfL issues exemptions (outside the scope of those listed in the website)?
We answered
Thank you for your revised request received on 30 August 2022, asking for information about specific and rare circumstances for exemptions from the LEZ.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.
Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested. We do not have any guidelines around issuing exemptions other than for those which fall into the categories which are listed on the TfL website. I appreciate this contradicts what we said earlier but this is the correct information. We do not issue LEZ exemptions for rare and specific circumstances and any such exemption requests (which we don’t record) should be rejected. I apologise for any confusion caused.
