Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 31August 2017 asking for information about Traffic Monitoring or Traffic surveys on the South Circular Road.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

On the section of road specified we have two permanent traffic counters. These units count traffic flows in real time and send details of the these along with some speed information and basic vehicle class information back to servers operated by TfL. This information is available to anybody who wishes it and requests can be sent to [email protected] .

The two particular sites are site number 315 Poynders Road, located on the A205 South Circular Road just east of the junction with Clarence Avenue, and site number 347 Christchurch Road on the A205 South Circular Road just west of Fenstanton Primary School.

In addition TfL traffic enumerators also undertook a single day count of bicycle flows at each of these locations during June/July 2017, for the period 0600 to 2200. These counts were part of an annual programme of monitoring cycle flows in inner London to be reported by the end of December this year.

Other than this we have not commissioned or undertaken any other traffic counts along this section of the A205

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
