Our ref: FOI-1242-2223/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 18 August 2022 asking for information about electric vehicle charging points.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

As part of the TfL rapid charging project, TfL installed 300 electric vehicle rapid charging points across TfL and borough land and highway. Through this, TfL produced a procurement framework, enabling us to procure batches of sites to the market. As a result, we did not directly invest funding into charge point operators, instead we used the funding, granted to us by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles to complete the power enabling works at each site and cover the staff resourcing of the project.

In a small number of cases, we did work directly with suppliers to oversee and contribute to the installation of charging points.

We provided Shell with £32,023.92 (inclusive VAT), to install four rapid charging points.

Bp Pulse (formally bp Chargemaster) were paid a grant worth £200,000 to deliver enabling works for 16 rapid charging points across eight Q-Park locations.

While we do have some Source London charging points across our network, there was no public spend for these sites.

If this is not the information you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
