We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-1240-2324

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 18th July 2023 asking for information about interior train cleaning on the London Underground.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

Could you please advise if you have a tender process to win contracts to clean the internals of the tubes trains. I understand you have a 3 step process on levels of cleaning.”

I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

I confirm that the next contract for these works will be tendered for award in September 2025. The following page of our website explains TfL’s procurement processes:

https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/procurement-information

The document attached shows the scope of works in the current contract, which includes the train fleet.

Note that we publish details of our future contract opportunities with an estimated value of £100,000 and above on our website here: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/contract-opportunities.

We publish larger contract opportunities (contracts with an expected value over UK public or utilities procurement thresholds) on HM Government's Find a Tender service where you can search and apply for higher value contracts in the UK's public and utilities sectors. HM Government's Contracts Finder lets you search for information about lower value contracts with the public sector.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely,

David Wells
