Thank you for your further request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 10 September 2021.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:

1. From the Pickett's Lock Garage proposal, are Tower Transit planning to revive the scheme in the near future after the first application failed to go forward?

We don’t hold this information. This is a strategic decision for Tower Transit to take.

2. Within the Upper Lea Valley Opportunity Area developments taking place, are the existing bus garages on capacity to accommodate more services serving the opportunity area? If they are not are there plans or proposals to build a new garage within the opportunity area for additional capacity?

Most routes could operate from more than one garage, as there are some 78 garages spread across the city. Having a spread of garage locations helps us to maintain competition and operate the network efficiently. Buses are the most used form of public transport, enabling new housing and access to employment, health, education and leisure. As London recovers and grows we forecast demand and service levels will increase and we will need more garage space, including around the Lea Valley area and we are working with operators and local authorities to ensure this need is reflected in their planning.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
