Can you please forward me the stats for this over the period - June - September. If you won't - please say why?
We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-1231-2021
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 1st October 2020 asking for information about incidence of Covid-19 amongst TfL staff.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Incidence of covid amongst Tfl workers -
hi, can you please forward me the stats for this over the period - June - September.”
TfL does not hold the necessary data to answer your request, as no comprehensive record is kept of absences specifically in connection with confirmed cases of Covid-19. Staff recorded as absent due to Covid-19 may not have actually contracted the virus themselves, but may have been shielding or self-isolating and unable to work from home (operational staff, for example). Other staff may have contracted the virus without being aware of it. For these reasons we cannot, therefore, say what the incidence of Covid-19 has been amongst TfL workers.
If you are considering submitting a further FOI request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely,
David Wells
