Breakdown of Non-journey related TPH sexual assault data
Request ID: FOI-1231-1718
Date published: 18 September 2017
You asked
Thank you for the information requested and the accompanying table, differentiating offences between Taxi Drivers and PH Drivers.
Unfortunately, this differentiation isn't continued into your typed summary of the outcomes. These should be more specific, considering the level of information contained in the table.
Could you please rectify this as separation of statistics in this manner has proved itself necessary to analyse the safety, considering the inbalance in offending between different classes of TFL licenced drivers.

Please note that where allegations are reported to the police, any investigation is undertaken by the police service where the alleged offence occurred. It is the responsibility of those police services to disclose information to TfL.
Where the suspect is a TfL licensed taxi or private hire driver, and we are notified by the police of an allegation, we will immediately assess whether there is a risk to public safety. We may immediately suspend a driver's licence prior to a charge or conviction, if we believe the individual is not 'fit and proper' based on the initial evidence. The driver will remain suspended until we receive the results of the police investigation and any court outcomes.
In some cases, we may cancel a driver's licence immediately, irrespective of the results of the police investigation and subsequent court proceedings.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely
