TfL Ref: 1228-1819
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 2 August 2018 asking for information about old bus blinds.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
The blinds are generally used until they wear out and components like the roller cradle are re-used to avoid needless waste. You could contact individual bus operators if you want more detailed information as TfL don’t maintain and operate buses ourselves - we contract private bus companies to do this for us and they lease or procure vehicles for the routes they win tenders for. You can find bus operators using the following link: https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/buses/
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely
