TfL Ref: FOI-1223-2223 Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 16th August 2022 asking for information about the TfL Book Club. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. Specifically you asked: “How much has TfL spent on marketing, advertising, staffing and administration for the new book club? How many public subscribers have joined the new book club?”. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. The estimated costs incurred by TfL are shown in the table below. Please note that the “staff time” entry is based on an estimate of staff hours for our in-house team – no additional staff costs were required. Note also that the website costs are recoverable through commission earned from subscribers, with a target that this will be recovered within 12 months, and Hodder & Stoughton have shared the cost of the website equally.
