Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 15 July 2024 asking for information about the number Travelcards sold.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
Please find attached spreadsheets with Travelcard issue data in response to your questions.
Please note:
2024/25 has ticket issues up to 22/06/2024 (latest period available)
TfL issues include Travelcard sales made at London Underground stations, Ticket Stops, Travel Information Centres, online and app
TOC In issues are Travelcard sales made by other rail operators (including London Overground and Elizabeth Line) within Zones 1-6
TOC out issues are Travelcard sales made by other rail operators outside of Zones 1-6
Day Travelcards (Peak and Off-Peak) are only available as magnetic/paper tickets
Travelcard seasons issued at TfL outlets are all on Oyster
Travelcard seasons issued by TOC out outlets are all paper/magnetic
Travelcard seasons issued by TOC in outlets are a mixture of Oyster (from Ticket Vending Machines) and paper/magnetic (from Ticket Offices). These are not our sales and we can't distinguish between the two
Other operators may additionally load Travelcard seasons onto their own smartcards but as these are not TfL products we do not have the data to distinguish them
Please let me know if this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason.
If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
