You asked
Dear TFL,
we are working on project that might help run cities more efficiently, for that reason if it really will, I would like to know how much money TFL spent on electricity for traffic lights/cctv and how many kWh it is, annually (for last 3 years) ?
And how much you spend for additional road works caused for example by utility network operator like water leakage, gas, etc.?
Thank you very much for your answers

We publish details of our contract expenditure via the Transparency section of our website at: https://content.tfl.gov.uk/contracts-awarded-tfl.pdf, examples of which are provided below with the earliest expiry date of each agreement: ,
Digital Traffic Enforcement System DTES is the system used by the Road Network Compliance team in our Directorate of Enforcement and On-Street Operations (EOS) to enforce certain traffic regulations on the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN). The system connects to the TfL CCTV camera network and enables operators to view, record, review, and validate contraventions and generate evidence packs for transmission to the Traffic Enforcement and Notice Processing service provider (NSL at present and Capita from June 2015). NSL/Capita then process and send Penalty Charge Notices to those who have contravened 30/05/2027 £5M - £10M SEA
RM HPE Hardware & Support The Remote Monitoring (RM) system allows TfL to remotely monitor 1082 traffic signals which are not on the Urban Traffic Control (UTC) system, and is the application used to report faults for those traffic lights. The support for current i2 servers expires Nov 2020, and is therefore required to be replaced with new RX i6 hardware system and support. 17/11/2023 £5K - £250K Computacenter Ltd
UTC/ASTRID HPE Hardware & Support TfL requires an assortment of hardware and support for Urban Traffic Control (UTC) & Automatic SCOOT Traffic Information Database (ASTRID) to ensure ongoing functionality. Both Systems are eventually due to be overtaken when the SITS RTO project goes live. The system in the meantime requires technical maintenance work on the UTC and ASTRID systems in order to keep them operationally supported until RTO delivers. 17/11/2025 £5K - £250K Computacenter Limited
TCPWare Support TCPware is the IP stack third party software on OpenVMS and underpins the functionality and supports the operation of the Urban Traffic Control (UTC). 31/12/2025 £5K - £250K Probrand Limited
CCTV: BT Redcare (Extension) Through BT Redcare, BT provides a bespoke CCTV surveillance service and associated analogue circuits and line rentals for fifteen TfL CCTV street cameras. These analogue circuits provide the connection for delivering CCTV images and camera control signals from the CCTV Camera site to the closed available “point of presence” of the GTT (formerly Interoute) CCTV Network. 31/03/2022 £5K - £250K BT
TfL01230 Supply of Technical Facilities Management and Related Services across TfL TFM Bundle 1 – Technical Facilities Management Services (Communications, CCTV, Access Control and Security Systems) 31/03/2027 £25M - £50M Telent Technology Services Limited
Deployable Enforcement Cameras (DEC) A new camera enforcement approach to moving civil traffic road offences. Through the purchase of cameras that are programmed to provide automatic contravention detection 24/7, which can also be relocated across the TLRN, TfL would have the ability to continually target enforcement at sites of priority interest until a level of compliance is achieved and a decision made to relocate to another site. 20/07/2024 £1M - £5M P Ducker Systems
And how much you spend for additional road works caused for example by utility network operator like water leakage, gas, etc.?
