Trinity Road, off Wandsworth Roundabout 1. Information about the timings of the pedestrian traffic light signalling on the crossing where the accident took place, we understand that this pedestrian crossing is button activated, meaning the lights will not change unless the button is pressed; 2. Information about the timings of the traffic light signalling on the two previous sets of traffic lights, screenshots taken from Google Earth showing these are attached, we understand that many drivers speed up from these sets of lights in order to get through the traffic lights at the pedestrian crossing where the accident took place; 3. A map of the area; 4. Any information that you have about the number of accidents on the Wandsworth Roundabout and in particular on the pedestrian crossing where the accident took place; 5. Any information that you have on how many drivers drive through a red light on this pedestrian crossing;

Thank you for your request received by us on 11 August 2022 asking for information about a junction on Trinity Road, off Wandsworth Roundabout.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked for:
 
  1. Information about the timings of the pedestrian traffic light signalling on the crossing where the accident took place, we understand that this pedestrian crossing is button activated, meaning the lights will not change unless the button is pressed;
  2. Information about the timings of the traffic light signalling on the two previous sets of traffic lights, screenshots taken from Google Earth showing these are attached, we understand that many drivers speed up from these sets of lights in order to get through the traffic lights at the pedestrian crossing where the accident took place;

I can confirm that we hold the information you require. However, for a detailed explanation of the operation of the signals we would need to prepare a traffic signal sequencing report. A distinct process exist for this information, for which there is a charge. Should you wish to proceed, please send a request directly to [email protected] who will advise further.

With regard to traffic incidents at this junction,  to enable us to provide you with a response, can you please confirm the time period that you are interested in? In the meantime, you may be interested to know that we publish road collisions, going back to 2005, on the London Collision Map that is available via the “Road danger reduction dashboard” (page 5) on the TfL website. The map can be filtered by the required location, date or severity. You can also see descriptions of the individual incidents by clicking on the icons on the map.

Fines for going through a red light are issued by the police and not TfL, and we do not hold any information on this.
